Ohio Politician Introduces Bill To Combat Flag Planting That Set Off Flurry Of Brawls Across College Football: REPORT

A big win for sportsmanship!

In the future, planting a flag on the 50-yard line at Ohio Stadium could be considered a serious crime, with serious consequences if the politicians' bill passes. Ohio Stadium is the home of the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the same politician plans to eliminate flag planting both at OSU's field and throughout the state.

The bill is in response to the brawl between Ohio State and Michigan, as well as other brawls caused by flag planting in college football.

In the name of sportsmanship and anti-sportsmanship, state Rep. Josh Williams (R-Sylvania Twp.) moved to introduce the Ohio bill on Tuesday, the newspaper reported. Port Clinton News Herald.

Williams' bill would “prohibit the erection of flagpoles and flags in the center of the football field at Ohio Stadium on the days of college football games and would name this law the Ohio Sportsmanship Act.”

“No person shall erect a flagpole with a national flag attached to it in the center of the football field at Ohio Stadium, Ohio State University, on the day of a college football game, before, during or after the game.”

And this is the whole point of the cake.

“Anyone who violates this provision will be charged with the following crimes: felony 5 degrees. A violation of this section is a strict liability violation and Section 2901.20 of the Revised Code does not apply. ”
