Harris did not give an interview for more than a month after President Biden announced his resignation and was added to the Democratic ticket to replace Harris. “But when you ask about her, this is an interesting question. I think they made a huge tactical mistake in literally not talking to the press. Trump told Time magazine that the Harris interview didn't go well, but that if he had done another interview, it wouldn't have gotten as much attention.

“She took the interview very seriously. Someone thought there was something wrong with her, and I don't think she could recover from that,” he added.
Trump and Harris turned to podcasts and nontraditional media sources during the campaign. Harris specifically sat down for an interview on the podcast “Call Her Daddy,” hosted by Alex Cooper.

Harris' campaign officials were unhappy with what they described as a “narrative” that Harris was not interviewed.
“I think it's a story to tell about how she didn't do interviews for 107 days…two weeks. You know she did plenty of interviews, but we did it our own way. We had to be a candidate, we had to find a running mate, we had to do a rollout, all of those things that we wanted to take into account. But real people, somehow, had heard that we wouldn't get an interview, which was both untrue and also goes against every kind of norm up until then of Mr. Trump. I think that was a problem,” Dillon told “Pod Save America” host Dan Pfeiffer in the weeks after the election.
