Odell Beckham Jr. splits from Dolphins trying to save lost season

Odell Beckham Jr. brought that talent to Miami, but it didn't work out.

Beckham and the Dolphins agreed to part ways ahead of the team's Week 15 road game against the Texans. According to NFL Network.

The former Giants star receiver is reportedly looking for a better opportunity to contribute and will be released on Friday. If he clears waivers, he will be free to sign with any team next week.

NFL Network reported that two of Beckham's former teams, the Rams and Ravens, are making the playoffs. In theory, they would be the type of team that wants to have deep veteran depth.

Beckham signed a one-year contract worth up to $8.25 million with the Dolphins this offseason, meaning he would actually cost less to join the AFC East team than it would have cost him to head elsewhere.

But being the No. 3 wide receiver and at best the No. 5 option on the offensive line hasn't created many opportunities.
