How did ‘Dexter’ leave off before ‘Original Sin’?

Dexter: Original Sin is ready to go back in time.

The show ran for 10 episodes on Showtime, and the network decided to continue with “Dexter: Original Sin.''

The first part stars Patrick Gibson as Dexter and is set in the '90s. The plot focuses on Dexter's transition from a student to an unsuspecting member of the Miami Police Department taking revenge on a serial killer.

Original Sin's star-studded cast also includes Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Christian Slater, Alex Shimizu, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Patrick Dempsey, and Reno Wilson will appear.

Dexter's storyline in the OG show had him hiding out as a lumberjack following his sister-in-law Debra (Jennifer). Carpenter) was killed. However, it was implied in “New Blood” that his life was over, so he decided to opt for another spin-off instead.

Dexter's first kill

The moment that would be depicted in “Original Sin” is Dexter's first murder. In the Showtime series, Dexter is given permission to kill Nurse Mary thanks to his father. How did “Dexter” originally end?

In the final episode of the “Dexter'' series, after Debra is brutally attacked by an associate of a serial killer, the killer is forced to disconnect her from life support. After adopting a new identity as a worker at a lumber company, Dexter goes into seclusion. However, many fans were not satisfied with the ending of his story.

Creator and showrunner Clyde Phillips later said that despite leaving the show after season 4, he had a different ending in mind.

“In the final scene of the series, Dexter wakes up and everyone thinks, 'Oh, that was a dream.' What happened to Dexter's fate in “New Blood”?

Phillips returned to direct the New Blood sequel, giving Dexter a more fitting ending. Reconstruction accelerates after Dexter fakes his own death in a hurricane and moves to a small town.

As he builds a new life, he suppresses his murderous urges while having hallucinations of his deceased sister.

At the beginning of the series, Dexter's estranged son Harrison (Jack Alcott) shows up unannounced. The reunion sets off a chain of events that leaves Dexter worried that his son may also become a murderer. During the ending of the limited series, Dexter asks Harrison to shoot him in order to free his son.

“Dexter: Original Sin” will be available to Showtime subscribers on Dec. 13 on Paramount+. The series will make its network debut on Showtime on December 15th at 10pm ET.
