Former Georgia Bulldogs running back Gleaton Jones, a member of the 2021 National Championship team, has passed away from injuries sustained in a car accident last week. He was 21 years old.
According to the University of Georgia's student newspaper, Jones was involved in a car accident while on a hunting trip in Florida. red & black. He suffered a brain injury in the accident and was admitted to the intensive care unit of a Florida hospital.

“Gleaton lived life to the fullest and expressed joy and enthusiasm in all his endeavors.” obituary Jones read. “At such a young age, he built a fulfilling life for himself and others by deeply investing in service to others through his family, friends, fraternity, and growing faith. Before joining the Bulldogs, Jones attended Deerfield-Windsor School in Georgia. He was a three-sport athlete in school and chose soccer.
He lasted just one season with the Bulldogs.
“Gleaton's family and all who loved him have many blessings to be thankful for for the outpouring of love, support and prayers,” the obituary continued. “Truly, your prayers have carried more burdens than any one person could bear.
“The families and members of the Albany community, the Deerfield-Windsor School community, and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity have poured so much love and encouragement into their lives, for which they are forever grateful. ”
