President Biden reflected on his time in office and his international influence in an address to Democratic lawmakers at a holiday reception Sunday night.
“We passed historic legislation, legislation that literally builds the strongest economy in the world,” Biden told an audience gathered at a Washington, D.C., hotel.
“There's not a single world leader that hasn't told me at the G7 and G20 meetings, every meeting I meet, that they won't be trading places with us any time soon.” he added.
“This is a law that, if fully implemented, will change America for decades to come.”
In his speech, he cited the country's infrastructure and sustainability growth amid the economic recovery.
“Infrastructure investment is over $1.4 trillion, and America has invested $1 trillion in the private sector so far. It's the largest investment in the history of climate change and the history of the world,” Biden said, citing administration statistics. said.
“And fundamentally transform our economy to grow not just from the top down, but from the middle out and the bottom up.”
He praised the Democratic Party's progress.
“I am convinced that today, because of you, America is in a better position than at any point in my career over the past 50 years,” Biden told the lawmakers in attendance.
“It's your fault. Again, I'm not exaggerating.”
His assertion comes as President-elect Trump criticizes the United States' global standing in various industries and fields, citing a lack of border security and other reasons.
“Joe Biden keeps talking about a smooth transition and unified government, yet he's still hell-bent on selling us a much-needed border wall for a dollar,” Trump told Truth Social. In his post he wrote: criticize Biden's recent efforts.
“It would cost a lot of money and time for the U.S. to get exactly the same wall as what is already being sold, and the price of a new wall would triple. It's crazy and it has to stop. yeah.”
Analysts say Trump is poised to inherit a strong economy when his second term begins in January.
