The president of the National Log Cabin Republican Party has accused gay leftists of trying to stir up fear among gays about the inauguration of President Donald Trump, saying that President-elect Donald Trump is “the best president in the history of the Republican Party when it comes to LGBTQ issues.”
In an interview with Breitbart News, Charles Moran, chairman of the Log Cabin Republicans, addressed the recent spate of mainstream media articles portraying President Trump as hostile to homosexuals. That includes an article in The Wrap that claims members of Hollywood's LGBTQ community are gay and are worried they may be considering fleeing the United States.
Moran says this is all a calculated attempt at political manipulation.
“We saw this in 2016, we saw it in 2020, and we will see it in 2024,” he said. Gay leftists target unaware members of the LGBTQ community “to make them feel like their rights are in jeopardy.”
“This is what the left is doing – vote Democrat or risk losing your rights. Trump is the best Republican president in history on LGBTQ issues.”
He later added, “Trump is arguably the best president for LGBTQ people in history.”

Trump has welcomed LGBTQ people into his administration since his first term in office. The president-elect recently appointed Scott Bessent as secretary of the treasury. If confirmed, Bessent would become the highest-ranking openly gay government official in U.S. history.
President Trump appointed Richard Grenell as acting director of national intelligence in 2020, making him the first openly gay presidential cabinet member. President Trump has selected Grenell as his presidential special envoy candidate for his second term.
Much of the fear-mongering by the gay left is based on controversial topics such as transgender procedures for children and trans “women” playing in women's sports, both of which are popular among voters on both sides of the political divide. It's very unpopular.
They also claim that same-sex marriage will be banned under a second Trump administration, even though President Trump has consistently said he is not opposed to same-sex marriage. Mar-a-Lago has hosted gay weddings in the past.
Log Cabin's Charles Moran said he believes voters see the left's strategy as wise.
“People won't fall for this anymore.”
