Americans were especially curious last week about why U.S. federal agencies were not providing any insight or further explanation about the drones. While owning and operating drones is fairly common, they have never been so widespread and common in recent times, and their frequent sightings have caused some concern.
“Something strange is happening. For some reason, they don't want to tell the public,” Donald Trump previously said in relation to the recent drone phenomenon.
Meanwhile, National Security and Public Affairs Advisor John Kirby and White House officials finally issued their own agreement on Monday.
“Sightings to date include a combination of legal commercial, hobbyist and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and even drones mistaken for drones,” Kirby told reporters on Monday. We assess that it also includes the stellar aircraft reported in
“Here in the United States, there are more than 1 million drones legally registered with the Federal Aviation Administration,” Kirby continued. “And there are thousands of commercial, hobbyist and law enforcement drones flying legally in the skies at any given time. That's the ecosystem we're dealing with.”
He added: “There are no known anomalies or national security or public safety risks in the civil airspace of New Jersey or any other state in the Northeast.” “Work continues.”
Since about a month ago, reports of drone sightings in New Jersey, New York and other parts of the Northeast have baffled federal and local authorities.
Mr Kirby's statement on Monday appeared to give the most insight into the matter, even if it was “not a lot” of information, as social media users claimed, although authorities It also said it is still investigating the matter and that other information about the artifacts may be leaked. It will be available in the coming weeks.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and FBI issued a joint statement last week “At this time, there is no indication that the reported drone sightings pose a threat to national security or public safety or have any foreign ties.”
“However, while no malicious activity is known to occur in New Jersey, reported sightings… highlight the inadequacies of current authorities,” they continued.
This is a developing story. Please check the latest information.
