Leanna Lenee is hitting back at the haters – and it's been brewing for a while.
The fiance of Heisman Trophy winner and Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter received some scrutiny from fans over the weekend and throughout the season for how she reacted.
Viewers of the Heisman ceremony saw Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders appear to have had to tell Renee to stand up when Hunter was announced as the winner, and then watched him chat with what appeared to be fans and pop-up fans. He was upset that a video of her being upset was released. Up event after victory.
“When I heard his name called, I immediately tried to stand up. When I looked at the video, his mother didn't get up, so I was like, 'Oh, maybe I'm not going to get up, I'm just here. I was just sitting there,''' she said Monday in an emotional TikTok video lasting nearly eight minutes.
“The moment I saw Travis stand up, I thought it was appropriate to stand up and say hello and congratulate him. But then there was a camera in front of Coach Prime trying to capture the moment. I knew that, but since people were online, I didn't want to be in the shot, so I sat down.
“I intentionally stepped away from the camera so they could have their moment. That was it. No one told me to stand up, no one had to tell me to celebrate with him. I just sat there and cried, I wanted to accept it – I was so excited for him, but I wanted that moment to be about him and his family. I wanted it to be time.”
Renee said she received Hunter's permission to air her frustrations in a video after her fiancé posted on Twitch that he had a tear-jerker to deal with all the criticism.

Go find a girl. Go find a life. Stop worrying about what happened to me. I know what I got.”
“You all hate me, and now you're going to hate my girlfriend,” he continued. “I feel the same way she does. We are inseparable. We have each other. If she's hurting, I'm hurting too. [and vice versa] …She's still sleeping. She's a lump. When you're hurt, you just cry yourself to sleep, and you know you'll be gone. She's drinking an OD amount tonight for no reason. ”
Linney, who got engaged to Hunter in February, explained that her exhausted state was the culmination of several events that painted her in an unfortunate light throughout the season. That included an incident in which Hunter was accused of being angry after the University of Colorado's win over Oklahoma State. Talking to the cheerleaders.

“People thought I was upset that he was celebrating with the cheerleaders. I don't know where it started, but that's not what I said,” she said. , adding that security guards were not allowing her family into the field for the celebration and that she and Hunter had already interacted.
“It's really crazy what people make up, because it's not something that actually happened. I think people find every little thing that makes it improbable. Bird-brained. People just accept what they see online.”
