Tiger Woods is back this week, but golf fans should not expect much

The big cat is back on the prowl, but golf fans don't need to feel too giddy about his PNC Championship appearance.

That's because Tiger Woods isn't fully fit yet, and he emphasized that two weeks ago at the Hero World Challenge.

“I'm not tournament savvy yet. I'm not there yet,” Woods said on Dec. 3.

“I'm not sharp enough to compete.” [the 20 best players in the world]. When I’m ready to compete and play at this level, I will. ”

woods Had back surgery again He then explained that his recent back problems were caused by a leg injury sustained in a 2021 car accident. He said the procedure “helped” but insisted he was not ready to play in the Bahamas two weeks ago.

Anyway, last Friday, ESPN and TGL release video Woods begins his drive at the new SoFi Center, leading to an obvious buzz on social media. His Jupiter Lynx GC team is scheduled to make its TGL debut on Tuesday, January 14th.

But first, Woods will compete in this week's PNC Championship. The PNC Championship is a father-son tournament often referred to as the “Fifth Major” by the legends involved. Nevertheless, the environment is much more relaxed and perfect for this time of year, perfect for an almost 49-year-old who struggles to walk, let alone play. Players also have access to carts, which explains why Woods is able to play this week.

So Woods will be relying on his son Charlie on the back burner this week. The young Woods has an impressive swing and routinely hits drives over 300 yards. He also qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur earlier this summer.

But the goal for the older Woods should be to get through this 36-hole stretch without pain. If he doesn't show any discomfort, golf fans will recognize it as a win, no matter what the leaderboard says. Any sign to the contrary would leave an indelible mark on this tournament and indicate that the end of his career is unfortunately near.
