Confidence in Courts Sinks to Lowest in Two Decades Under Biden

Confidence in America's justice system has fallen to its lowest level in 20 years under President Joe Biden, Gallup revealed on Tuesday.

The drop in confidence reflects dissatisfaction with the weaponization of justice against the Republican Party.

President-elect Donald Trump is facing four criminal charges since Biden took office. Some of the lawsuits were dropped after President Trump was re-elected in November.

Gallup reports that only 44% of Americans trust the courts, down 18 points from 62% when Trump left office.

Gallup said the “few” countries where “confidence in the judiciary has fallen significantly by points” than the US include Myanmar (-46%), Venezuela (-35%) and Syria (-28%). Ta.

gallup reported the result:

Looking at trends in trust in the judiciary by Americans' support for their country's leaders (Gallup does not measure partisan identity in its global survey), we see how the United States has the lowest trust in its courts in history. Gain insight into whether you've hit a low point.

Under President Joe Biden's administration, those who disapprove of U.S. leadership have lost confidence in the judicial system and courts, from 46% in 2021 to 29% in 2024. In contrast, trust in the judiciary among those who support U.S. leadership remained stable at 62% from 2021 to 2021. In 2023, it will plummet to 44% this year. This follows a similar pattern, although more pronounced than that seen during the first four years of President Barack Obama's administration.

This year marks the first time on record that confidence in the judiciary has fallen below 60% among those who approve of U.S. leadership, and confidence in the courts has fallen below 60% among those who approve of U.S. leadership. This is the first time it has fallen below 50%. , the double whammy has pushed national numbers to their lowest in 20 years.

Gallup surveyed 1,000 Americans between June 28 and August 1.
