Trump suggests Ocasio-Cortez 'keep trying' to lead Democratic Party

President-elect Trump on Wednesday told Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York to “keep trying” after she lost the top Democratic vote on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee in the next Congress. I encouraged him.

“It's such a shame that AOC lost the race for Democratic leadership. She should keep trying. One day she will succeed!” Trump I wrote it in the post Wednesday Truth Society.

Trump's comments came after Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) defeated Ocasio-Cortez in Tuesday's vote.

Mr. Connolly's victory was predicted on Monday after the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, chaired by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York, voted to endorse Mr. Connolly for the seat. . He also had support from former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who lobbied on his behalf.

Mr. Connolly has more than a decade of experience on the panel than Mr. Ocasio-Cortez, but the New York Democrat has a reputation as an unabashed defender of progressive ideals.

President Trump said earlier this year that Ocasio-Cortez, a vocal critic of Republican leaders, has a “good temperament,” and during the 2018 presidential campaign, former New York congressman Joe Crowley's aides said, He claimed that he had warned him, and gave him rare praise. The primary campaign against Ocasio-Cortez argued that she could be a political threat. She ultimately defeated Crowley.

After the election, Ocasio-Cortez warned of the potential fallout from Trump's victory, emphasizing her view that freedoms could be threatened by the next president.

“I'm not here to lay out what we're all going to collectively go through, but I think what we can do to prepare is build community.” Ocasio-Cortez said on the show.instagram live stream.

She cited the trifecta of Republican victories in both chambers of Congress and the White House, mass deportations, and vaccine withdrawal, which is now being replaced by vaccine skeptic Robert F., whom President Trump has nominated to lead the Health Department. -A nod to Kennedy Jr. Welfare services – as a cause for her alarm.
