Giuliani ordered to appear in court over asset relinquishment

A Manhattan judge on Wednesday summoned Rudy Giuliani to face contempt charges, months after he failed to turn over assets to two Georgia pollsters who won a $146 million defamation lawsuit. issued an order.

Manhattan Judge Louis J. Lehman signed an order requiring Giuliani to appear in court on January 3. According to the Associated Press. He is also scheduled to go on trial before Lehman on Jan. 16 over the disposition of his Florida residence and World Series ring.

Lehman had previously warned of misconduct within the courtroom. The disbarred lawyer interfered with Mr. Lehman during a hearing in November to fight accusations of fraud that delayed the transfer of property.

His assets range from a New York apartment, expensive jewelry, sports memorabilia, and a Mercedes.

Throughout the legal process, Giuliani has argued that he was subjected to “unjust punishment” and is the victim of “political persecution.”

Giuliani said he was in dire need of financial support and created a GoFundMe page to raise money for living expenses.

“They seized all my money and it wasn't much. I need legal representation against these evil people,” he wrote online.

“I can't buy food.”

But pollsters in Georgia, who Mr. Giuliani accused of voter fraud, said they faced death threats as a direct result of Mr. Giuliani's actions.

Despite Giuliani's resistance, the two are still waiting for compensation to be paid.
