Texas Gov. Abbott unveils billboard campaign to deter illegal aliens: ‘Many girls are raped by the coyotes you hire’

A new billboard campaign aims to stop illegal border crossings. revealed Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Thursday.

Mr. Abbott held a press conference Thursday next to a burnt rape tree at Wall Ranch in Eagle Pass to explain his campaign.

“They are imploring Central Americans to consider the violent and horrifying reality of what will happen to the women and children they bring with them.”

“Yesterday, we began installing dozens of billboards throughout Mexico and Central America. “It gives people a realistic picture of what can happen if they travel or enter Texas illegally,” Abbott said.

The billboards warned of a high incidence of rape and other crimes against migrants heading to the U.S.-Mexico border.

“These billboards tell the horrifying story of human trafficking. They call on Central Americans to consider the violent and horrifying reality of what happens to the women and children they bring in.” continued Mr. Abbott.

The billboards will be placed in Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico to warn potential immigrants of the threats they and their families face. Some of the messages were written in Spanish, others in Russian, Chinese and Arabic.

“If you think the journey to the border is grueling, wait until you see what life is like in prison.”, “Your wife and daughter will pay for the trip with their bodies. Coyotes lie. “Don't leave your family at risk.” message On the billboard.

Mr. Abbott criticized the Biden administration and its failure to govern illegal immigration during its four years.

“We will continue to take all steps necessary to protect Texas until President Donald Trump returns to the White House to once again secure our border.”

Some local law enforcement and border patrol agents denied He acknowledged that “rape trees” exist, but acknowledged that some immigrants were forced into sex trafficking after being brought across the border into the United States.
