Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of X and whom President Trump appointed as co-chair of the Department of Government Efficiency, has engaged in an online feud with former MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann.
The two sides traded brutal insults over Musk's platform following the uproar over his role in scuppering the first bipartisan agreement to avert a partial government shutdown this week.
Olbermann started the fight with an obscenity-laced post calling Musk a “fascist,” while Olbermann, the billionaire and incoming Trump cabinet member, accused Musk of having a neurological disorder.

Olbermann wrote on Thursday: “So @elonmusk you're bad at politics too lol you fascist.”
“You're elevating Tourette's work to poetry,” Musk shot back at Olbermann that night.
Mr. Olbermann's provocative post appeared to be one of many strong reactions liberals had toward Mr. Musk after he helped kill the first of 1,547 short-term government spending bills. It will be done.
Musk and other conservatives expressed dissatisfaction with many of the bill's provisions, which they believe are irrelevant and unnecessary for a “clean” extension of government funding. The billionaire called for the expulsion of MPs who were scheduled to vote in favor of the bill.
“Any Representative or Senator who votes for this outrageous spending bill deserves to be voted out within two years!” Musk wrote about X this week.
Shortly after Mr. Musk posted his reaction to the bill, President Trump's transition team released a public joint statement opposing the first iteration of the agreement by Mr. Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance.

The fierce backlash from those figures led to negotiations among lawmakers over that version of the bill breaking down, leaving them scrambling to finalize a new proposal before the looming Friday night session adjournment.
Musk's post prompted liberal lawmakers and pundits to lash out at him, accusing him of tampering with the bill and calling for an unelected person to lead the party. He accused the government of interfering with government procedures.
Other prominent conservatives on the platform also consulted Mr. Olbermann.
Conservative actor Matthew Marsden pointed out the irony of Olbermann's subscription to X, writing: “You're paying a blue tick to support him. It's hilarious.”
Comedian Chrissy Mayer added: “I thought Keith was going to leave Twitter.
