Health officials confirmed the first severe case of bird flu in the United States on Wednesday, leading to a surge in online searches for virus symptoms. Since March, more than 60 people have been infected with bird flu across the country. Almost all of them have mild symptoms. Google searches for bird flu symptoms jumped 500 percent on Wednesday, with the virus topping all trending “symptoms” searches.
