Quinnen Williams is questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams due to a hamstring injury, but the Jets' $96 million defensive tackle will rest the rest of the game to heal as the team moves back into playoff contention. I haven't thought about that.
The Jets (4-10) have missed the playoffs every year of the former first-round pick's six-year NFL career, a league-worst 14 years overall.
“I want to play every day, regardless of the record, regardless of the situation,” Williams said Friday. “I want to be the guy that helps this team and this organization turn this around and helps this team win football games.
“The important thing is to play soccer with my boys, the guys who have been here since training camp, the defensive line, the guys who are fighting together every day to get better. So no matter what the record is, I want to be there with my guys no matter what the situation is.”
The two-time Pro Bowler added that the organization's recent losing season has been “really frustrating” to him because it started with such high expectations.
“Not just the defense, but the record itself,” Williams said. “If you're a true competitor, no matter what you are, you want to win football games, especially in this league. The important thing is to focus every week on what you can do to achieve the other three. That means you need to.”

Williams, who has six sacks in 13 games, left Sunday's win over the Jaguars late in the fourth quarter with a hamstring issue and did not practice this week.
“I'm doing what I can every day, listening to my doctors and trainers. I'm going to do everything I can to get back,” he said.
Cornerback Michael Carter II was the only player on the injury report listed as absent for Sunday's game. Braylon Allen (back), Leki Fotu (knee) and Ariya Berra-Tucker (ankle) are questionable.
