Trump Nominates Mark Burnett, Creator Of ‘The Apprentice,’ As Special Envoy To U.K.

President-elect Donald Trump has announced that he has appointed “The Apprentice” author Mark Burnett as special envoy to the United Kingdom.

On Saturday, President Trump posted on Truth Social announcing Barnett's future position.

“It is a great honor to appoint Mark Barnett as special envoy to the United Kingdom,” the president-elect said. “With a distinguished career in television production and business, Mark brings a unique combination of diplomatic acumen and international recognition to this important role.”

Barnett will work to strengthen diplomatic relations with a focus on areas of mutual interest such as trade, investment and cultural exchange.

In addition to producing Trump's former show, “The Apprentice,” Burnett also produced “Shark Tank” and led production on other shows such as “Survivor” and “The Martha Stewart Show.”
