Michigan woman, 66, goes missing at Grand Canyon

Officials say an active search is underway for a 66-year-old Michigan woman who went missing from a popular tourist spot during a trip to the Grand Canyon more than a week ago.

Martha Oberholser was last seen Dec. 10 at Mother Point on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, returning from a missed commercial bus tour. According to the National Park Service.

Authorities believe she walked west from Mather Point, a popular observation deck, toward Bright Angel Lodge or Hermit's Rest, the westernmost tip of the Grand Canyon's South Rim.

The search has been ongoing for 11 days.

Marie's resident is described as a white female, 5 feet 2 inches tall and 110 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes, according to the Sault Ste.

She was last seen wearing a long off-white coat, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and carrying a navy blue bag.

Officials encourage anyone who may have witnessed Overholser to contact the NPS ISB tip line at (888) 653-0009.
