Trump threatens to demand ownership of Panama Canal ‘in full’ if ‘rip-off’ of US doesn’t stop

President-elect Trump has criticized the “exorbitant” fees Panama charges the United States and threatened to demand control of the country's key trade node.

The former president and future president posted two truth social posts highlighting America's current relationship with the built, sold, and vaunted Panama Canal — which he calls national and financial security. It was positioned as a problem.
