A former Tennessee teacher who raped and impregnated a 12-year-old boy inside his home was sentenced Friday to 25 years in prison for a heinous sex crime. One of the victim's family members told the educator he once trusted to “burn in hell.'' ”
Alyssa McConmon, a fourth-grade teacher in Tipton County, pleaded guilty to numerous sex charges related to five of the 21 potential victims.
McCommon was charged in 2021 with assaulting a former student and pleaded guilty to rape of a child, statutory rape, sexual exploitation of a minor and solicitation of a minor.
McCommon was sentenced to 25 years in prison, as Circuit Judge Blake Neal ordered all sentences to run concurrently without the possibility of parole.
After his sentencing, McCommon was required to register as a violent sex offender and was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
His teaching license was also revoked.
The former Charger Academy educator used his authority position to form relationships with preteens he met in class before playing video games, following them on social media, and befriending their mothers. did. WREG reported.
McCommon had a crush on a 12-year-old student, calling her more than 200 times and sending her explicit photos on Snapchat.
In one message, McCommon threatened the boy, saying he would kill himself if he ended their relationship, the paper said.
An investigation into McCommon began in 2021, and in 2023, a mother reported inappropriate text messages from the teacher to her son.
Mr. McCommon was suspended without pay on August 24, 2023.
She was arrested on Sept. 8, 2023, on 23 counts of multiple sex crimes against several students, according to the Tipton County District Attorney. Mark Davidson said Friday.
She bonded, but was back in prison less than a month later after violating the terms of her release to have contact with one of her victims.
At the same time, McCommon claimed to one of the boys that she was pregnant with his child.
In a phone call to the minor played in court, McCommon, who was previously the mother of two children, said she was ready to bring the child, allegedly theirs, into the world.
According to WREG, DNA evidence supported the former teacher's claim that the child was the father.
A judge later ruled that McCommon “has no contact with young children.”
The victim's mother said a newborn baby is immune to a mother who committed a felony, and McCommon must be punished.

Davidson praised McCommon's guilty plea and subsequent prison sentence.
“These convictions and sentences continue the commitment of law enforcement and the District Attorney's Office to aggressively investigate and prosecute child rape and sexual abuse cases in this district, especially where there are underage child victims. “It shows great efforts,” he said.
