Tennessee teacher Alissa McCommon who raped student, 12, inside her home and got pregnant, sentenced to 25 years in prison

A former Tennessee teacher who raped and impregnated a 12-year-old boy inside his home was sentenced Friday to 25 years in prison for a heinous sex crime. One of the victim's family members told the educator he once trusted to “burn in hell.'' ”

Alyssa McConmon, a fourth-grade teacher in Tipton County, pleaded guilty to numerous sex charges related to five of the 21 potential victims.

McCommon was charged in 2021 with assaulting a former student and pleaded guilty to rape of a child, statutory rape, sexual exploitation of a minor and solicitation of a minor.

McCommon was sentenced to 25 years in prison, as Circuit Judge Blake Neal ordered all sentences to run concurrently without the possibility of parole.

After his sentencing, McCommon was required to register as a violent sex offender and was ordered to have no contact with the victim.

His teaching license was also revoked.

McCommon had a crush on a 12-year-old student, calling her more than 200 times and sending her explicit photos on Snapchat.

An investigation into McCommon began in 2021, and in 2023, a mother reported inappropriate text messages from the teacher to her son.

Mr. McCommon was suspended without pay on August 24, 2023.

She was arrested on Sept. 8, 2023, on 23 counts of multiple sex crimes against several students, according to the Tipton County District Attorney. Mark Davidson said Friday.
