A Florida woman was arrested on suspicion of hitting a teenager with her truck as he crossed the road, covering his license plate and speeding away.
Sarah Wright, 37, was arrested Thursday and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury and driving with a suspended license.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Gage Avenue and Noah Street in Deltona, Florida.
The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was riding a scooter home from Pine Ridge High School when he was struck by a black Chevrolet Silverado while crossing the street, according to the sheriff's office.

The boy fell to the ground, sustaining serious injuries to the back of his head and injuries to his arms, but he remained conscious after the incident.
Witnesses reported that they were checking a nearby mailbox when they heard the crash. She told investigators that the suspect, later identified as Wright, got out of the truck after the accident, checked on the boy, then returned to the vehicle and covered the license plate with paper and tape.
However, witnesses could still see the first letters on the tag. A nearby Ring camera also captured the truck fleeing the scene.

Victims and witnesses were also able to provide detailed descriptions of the suspect.
Within minutes, authorities were able to locate the suspicious vehicle on a nearby license plate reader camera.
Mr. Wright was located in Flagler County and taken into custody with assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol and the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

She was booked into the Flagler County Jail on $3,500 bail.
The teenage victim required stapled lacerations and treatment for an arm injury, but is expected to make a full recovery.
