The wide-eyed creature recently decided to pay a surprise Christmas visit to a family in Arlington, Virginia.
Family was shocked when they realized that a black owl had come down the chimney like Santa Claus and taken up residence in their house, WUSA 9 reported on friday.
The Burgoynes recorded the owl flying around the house before landing on the Christmas tree.
Murray from Sergeant Arlington Animal Welfare League arrived on scene to help capture the bird and eventually released it into its original habitat.

video footage show Children inside the house were giggling as a police officer tried to catch an owl that had flown into the Christmas tree.
“He was like, 'This is the perfect place!'” said the man behind the camera. The rest of the clip shows Murray releasing the owl in what appears to be his family's backyard. As soon as he opened the net, the owl got up and flew off into the night.
