Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans revealed the extent of wide receiver Tank Dell's gruesome injury on Monday.

Dell will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL and dislocating his kneecap in Saturday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. This is the second consecutive season that the wide receiver has required postseason surgery. He broke his fibula in week 13 last year.

“He dislocated his knee, tore his anterior cruciate ligament, and has other repairs that need to be done,” Lyons said. “So he's going to be out for the rest of the year.”

Dell was injured on a 30-yard touchdown catch. He was trying to pass behind the end zone and made a great catch on a pass from CJ Stroud. He collided with teammate Jared Wayne on his way to the field, immediately grabbing his knee.

Dell's teammates cried as they watched him collapse. He was placed on a stretcher and wheeled out of the stadium in a cart, then stayed overnight in the hospital and was flown back to Houston.

“It wasn't easy for me to sit there and get emotional,” Stroud said Monday. “But it's something we all go through in life, and it's easy to be a fake tough guy. It's easy to go through life acting like everything doesn't affect you, but the heart… Deep down everyone knows they are going through something.”

He also addressed criticism of showing his emotions.

“It's good for young men and women and children who are raised to do that. And that's what I was taught when I was a kid, not by my parents, but by the world. Don't let anyone see you're emotional. Please.'' Second, the quarterback of the year was added. “Don't let anyone bring you down, and sure, in some ways that's true, but there's life too, and for people to look at me in that light and still have a human element. I think it was a good thing that I knew that.''For me, I'm a normal person. ”
