Heart-pounding footage shows the moment a boat blew off its bow at a Florida marina on Monday, killing one person and injuring five others.
The small boat exploded around 6 p.m., setting fire to the Lauderdale Marina as shocked bystanders watched helplessly. According to a video from NBC 6.
The top half of the boat flew into the air and landed on the bottom of the ship.
Witness at restaurant near Fort Lauderdale told the Miami Herald They saw the boat refueling before the explosion.
“I heard a loud explosion, so I looked around and… [there was a woman] He is on the second floor of the boat,” said a bystander.
During the surreal incident, a second small boat caught fire, the paper said.
According to reports, five victims were pulled from the chaos and rushed to a nearby hospital, three of them with traumatic injuries, authorities said.
The deceased victim was found dead in the water by divers.
“That boat is completely gone,” said Tamer Dimiati, a restaurant worker. he told Local 10.
“Then I jumped out there to see if anyone needed help. One person was on fire and another was in the water. It was just chaos all at once.”
It took firefighters about two hours to extinguish the blaze, the Herald reported.
