IRS says 1 million taxpayers will get up to $1,400 rebate

Those who have not filed a 2021 tax return may also be eligible, but must do so by the April 15 deadline.

The IRS says the payments will be sent to taxpayers' bank accounts listed on their 2023 tax returns or registered addresses.

“If a taxpayer has closed a bank account since filing their 2023 tax return, the taxpayer does not need to take any action. The bank will return the payment to the IRS and the refund will be sent to the address of record. ,” the IRS wrote. ”
