Malik Nabers injury clouds Giants rookie’s status for Colts game

The Giants did not practice on Christmas because players were given the day off.

But even if they hit the field, Malik Nabors wouldn't have played because he's dealing with a toe issue.

That's the prediction the Giants announced Wednesday.

Nabors did not participate in Tuesday's practice, which consisted of full-speed individual drills and an hour-long walkthrough.

The adjusted schedule for the holiday week forced the Giants to practice a day earlier than usual (Tuesday is a normal day off for players), so it's surprising that several players were suspended. It wasn't.

Nabors has missed practice time frequently this season, but has played in all but two games in Weeks 5 and 6, when he was in concussion protocol.

Players expected to be limited in practice are: S Dane Belton (knee), LT Jermaine Elemunor (wrist), QB Drew Lock (right shoulder), CB Drew Phillips (knee). , DL Jordon Riley (knee), DL Armon Watts (shoulder)).

Two offensive linemen, Austin Schlottman (fibula) and Aaron Stinney (concussion), were expected to play full time.

If Schmitz is unavailable, Schlottman could make his Giants debut Sunday starting at center field.
