Trump Suggests Canadians Should ‘DRAFT WAYNE GRETZKY’ to Run for Prime Minister Amid Trudeau Upheaval

If Canadians choose to replace Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, President-elect Trump is considering who could do so.

The soon-to-be 47th president of the United States hinted on social media Wednesday that hockey great Wayne Gretzky would replace the embattled current prime minister.

“I just parted ways with Wayne Gretzky, a great figure in the world of ice hockey,” Trump wrote. I said: “Wayne, why don't you run for the position of Prime Minister of Canada, soon to be known as Governor-General of Canada? You will win easily and you won't have to campaign.”

“Even though he wasn't interested, I think Canadians should start a Wayne Gretzky draft campaign. It would be a lot of fun to watch!”

President Trump's proposal comes as pressure mounts on Trudeau to resign following the resignation of Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland earlier this month.

The resignation of Prime Minister Trudeau's leading cabinet members did not escape the attention of President Trump, who criticized the Canadian prime minister on social media.

“Canadians are stunned by the resignation or firing of the Finance Minister by Governor Justin Trudeau,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social, reiterating the idea that Canada should become part of the United States.

“Her actions were completely harmful and in no way conducive to a beneficial transaction for very unfortunate Canadians. She will not be missed!!!”

Gretzky is an avid supporter of President-elect Trump and appeared with him at the luxury resort Mar-a-Lago.
