Los Angeles-area authorities investigating human legs found on shoreline

Southern California authorities discovered additional human remains Thursday, a day after human feet were found on the shore near where a capsized boat carrying two fishermen washed ashore earlier this week.

According to a report by Fox Los Angeles, officers with the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department responded to a report of someone finding an appendage around 8:20 a.m. on Christmas Day.

On Thursday, authorities discovered a second human leg and femur, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The body has not been identified. Palos Verdes Estates Police Lt. Aaron Verda told the newspaper that the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office will identify the bodies found and determine whether they are related to the Dec. 23 boat capsizing incident. Ta.

The two went fishing in a small boat on Monday afternoon, but went missing the next day.

Their boat was found capsized near the rocky shoreline of Palos Verdes Estates, the U.S. Coast Guard said. The Coast Guard search was carried out on Christmas Eve but was called off on Wednesday due to dangerous conditions, the Times reported.
