A Palestinian terrorist stabbed an 83-year-old woman to death outside an Israeli nursing home on Friday, police said. The attack took place in the town of Herzliya on the Mediterranean coast outside Tel Aviv.

The gunman, identified by Ynet as Ibrahim Shalhoub from the West Bank city of Tulkarem, reportedly attacked Lipovski and began stabbing him. An anonymous staff member at the facility told the Walla news site:
[Lipovsky] As I went outside and waited for my daughter to take me to the doctor, the terrorist started stabbing her five or six times.
She has been a resident of the nursing home here for many years. I heard a scream and went outside to see her lying on the floor.
Police said the incident occurred in De Shalit Square in Herzliya, according to AFP. report.
Before the hospital announced her death, Idan Sina, a doctor at the National Health Service Magen David Adom, said in a statement: “We provided initial treatment, stopped the bleeding, treated her with medicine and treated her in critical condition. She was evacuated in critical condition,” the statement said.
Police said in a statement that the suspected attacker was a “resident of the Palestinian Authority” and was in custody.
“The circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation.”
