A Christian movie with a story of salvation has soared into Netflix's top five. The Forge (PG) launched on Netflix on December 21st and quickly entered the platform's top 10 list during the Christmas break, nudging ahead of the titles below. bigger Stars and a bigger budget.

The movie tells the story of a young man Isaiah, the man without direction, A person who discovers purpose and faith through a discipleship training program led by a wise and caring supervisor.

that made Works by fellow filmmakers Alex and Stephen Kendrick who was it behind overcomer, war roomand other faith-based hits.
The Kendricks hope the film will spark a discipleship movement.
“We pray every time we make a movie,” Alex Kendrick told Crosswalk Headlines, touching on the movie's theme.
“My position as a disciple is different. More than just “I am a convert to the faith,” he explained. “We can find salvation through Jesus. free gift. However, being a disciple means [is different]. Jesus said, “If anyone would like to be my disciple, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” In other words, discipleship is costly. So we want to draw people there. ”
As demonstrated in the film, discipleship requires a one-on-one relationship, the filmmakers said. Jesus “poured out” on his disciples, Alex Kendrick said.
“While it was tough for them at times, they bore fruit on a deeper level, and they walked more closely with the Lord,” he said. “So we want to do that. And we want the church to want to grow in discipleship. And that's really what the world needs to see.”
The world needs to experience Christians living out their faith, he added.
“We don't need to see any more lukewarm Christians in church,” Alex Kendrick said. “We need to see people who are committed to Jesus. it really I want to praise and praise the Lord, and [that] Walk more closely with God. So this movie focuses on what that would be like. ”
