Majority Support FBI Probe into Liz Cheney

A Rasmussen Report poll found Thursday that a majority of likely voters support an FBI investigation into Liz Cheney, a key member of the partisan Jan. 6 Committee.

Some House Republicans are calling on the FBI to investigate Cheney for allegedly tampering with “at least one” witness on a partisan committee.

Mr. Cheney said he should not go to prison for his alleged wrongdoing.

However, 57 percent of likely voters said they supported an FBI investigation into the issue.

public opinion poll sampled There were 1,099 voters from Dec. 17 to 19, with a margin of error of 3 percentage points.

report released House Executive Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Barry Loudermilk said on December 17 that the partisan committee “ignored or suppressed evidence” from the final report and “deleted vast amounts of records that should have been preserved.”

Loudermilk's press release about the report asserts three key facts against Cheney.

1. Former Congresswoman Liz Cheney conspired with “star witness” Cassidy Hutchinson without Hutchinson's attorney's knowledge.

2. Former Congresswoman Liz Cheney should be investigated for possible criminal witness tampering based on new information about her communications.

3. Cassidy Hutchinson's most outrageous claims lack any evidence, and the task force knew they were false at the time they publicly promoted her.

Additionally, Loudermilk said in January that his computer forensics investigators found 117 files were missing, likely deleted or encrypted by committee members.
