Officer Lansing was a well-respected employee at Ross Correctional Facility for many years, and his untimely death on Christmas Day is heartbreaking for his family, the entire Ross Correctional Facility family, and our entire department. I'm letting you do it. Officer Lansing was beloved by his colleagues and was known for his great support of RCI officers. He was a friendly and outgoing officer who treated everyone with respect and was always professional.

Losing a staff member is difficult, but losing a family member on Christmas Day at the hands of someone in our care is a tragedy beyond comprehension. Officer Lansing made the ultimate sacrifice this holiday instead of going home after work to be with his family. And our agency will never be the same.

Please keep Officer Lansing's family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this devastating and tragic time.

Meanwhile, neighbors in Lansing grieve His loss, according to WSYX.
