A Florida Democrat has announced that he has switched parties to the Republican Party.

On Tuesday, Rep. Hillary Cassel posted a statement on X announcing a change of government due to the Democratic Party's lack of support for Israel.
“This decision was not made lightly and stems from a deep sense of responsibility to my constituents and my commitment to the values that guide my service,” Cassel said less than two months after being re-elected. said in a social media post.
“As a proud Jewish woman, I am increasingly troubled by the Democratic Party's failure to unequivocally support Israel and its willingness to tolerate extreme progressive voices that justify or condone acts of terrorism. “There are,” Cassel said. “I'm always troubled by the current Democratic Party's inability to empathize with everyday life in Florida.”
“I cannot remain in a party that does not represent my values any longer,” she continued.
Although he admits he doesn't “agree with every Republican on every detail,” he is confident the party will always be respectful, supportive and provide input.
“I ran for office to better our community and our state,” she said. “I want voters to know that my determination to deliver on these promises is stronger than ever.”
Last month, Tampa state Rep. Susan Valdez shared the same news, saying she felt “ignored” by her party.
