During Friday's Liberty Bowl, Texas Tech Red Raiders defensive back CJ Baskerville called a foul on Fernando Carmona of the Arkansas Razorbacks for what was described as a “dirty” play.
Baskerville made the claim in a post on X on Saturday. He accused Carmona of stepping on the back of his ankle after the play and shared two videos as evidence.

“There's no denying that Arkansas played a great game last night. I'm not going to take that away from them. But #55 Fernando Carmona blatantly stomping on my ankle and pushing me down on purpose was just filthy.” Baskerville wrote in “X”.
“Keep saying, ‘I got your ass.’ Try harder.”
Carmona, whose weight is listed as 322 pounds, did not immediately respond to Baskerville's post.
The incident in question occurred in the fourth quarter of the University of Arkansas' 39-26 victory over Texas Tech University.

Baskerville led the Red Raiders with 10 total tackles and had one pass deflection in the game. The senior finished the 2024 season with a season total of 52 tackles and four interceptions.
The defense beat University of Arkansas quarterback Tyren Green twice. Green avoided most of the pressure, completing 11 of 21 for 341 passing yards and two touchdown passes.
The Razorbacks finished the season 7-6 and have won three straight bowl games under head coach Sam Pittman.
