This may be the New Year's ball drop that everyone wants to forget quickly.
With an estimated 1 million people expected to revel in the Big Apple in 2025, Times Square is experiencing an extremely humid period, with rain expected to soak the city overnight Tuesday.
“Unfortunately, the rain will likely move into the New York City area around 7 p.m. and continue until midnight,” Fox Prediction Center meteorologist Stephanie Van Oppen told the Post.
“Very heavy rain is possible between 10pm and 11pm, which could cause disruption for those looking to watch the ball drop outside.”
Heavy rain could continue until 1 or 2 a.m. on New Year's Day, potentially causing havoc for New Yorkers returning home from New Year's celebrations.
The weather is expected to improve by Wednesday morning.
Van Oppen said temperatures are expected to remain in the mild 40s to 50s Celsius during the New Year's celebrations.

Much of the East Coast will be drenched in rain this holiday thanks to a storm that is moving into Interstate 95.
Van Oppen said temperatures are likely to drop into Wednesday, and the storm could bring snow to areas such as Buffalo and Watertown.
But New Yorkers will likely have to wait even longer for the first snow of 2025.
