A North Carolina McDonald's employee was arrested Friday in connection with the shooting death of a DoorDash delivery worker, according to the Fayetteville Police Department (FPD).
Police arrested Kevin Holland, 25, near the Walmart shopping center in Spring Lake, about 26 miles north of Fayetteville, FPD wrote. statement. According to ABC11, Holland allegedly shot and killed Samori Husamuddin, 25, after an argument Thursday around 8:15 p.m. reported. Husamudeen was reportedly making a pickup at the time. The Spring Lake Police Department (SLPD) located Holland in a location approximately 20 minutes from the McDonald's where he worked. According to Go to WRAL News. He has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bail at the Cumberland County Detention Center.
Tajay Black, the mother of Husamudeen's child, told WRAL News: “He makes friends wherever he goes. He can light up a room and tell anyone in the room he walks into. He didn't deserve that. He didn't do anything to anyone.”
Ms. Black said she did not recognize Holland or understand what kind of conflict led to the shooting.
“What happened should not have happened at all,” she told the media. “One stupid act, for no reason, can destroy an entire family.”
McDonald's officials called the situation “shocking and upsetting for our entire team,” and told ABC11 they are cooperating with police and counseling employees.
In a statement to the Daily Caller, DoorDash called this a “horrible and tragic crime” and said the company was “devastated by this tragic loss, and our hearts are with Mr. Husamdeen's loved ones.” ” he said.
Husamdeen is survived by Black and their child. Holland's next court date is scheduled for Monday, according to WRAL News.
