After a brief search, deputies found Mileskiewicz lying face down on the ground behind a tool shed in the backyard, hidden among shrubs.
The officers reportedly ordered the suspect to crawl out of the bushes, but he refused and was eventually removed from his hiding place and taken into custody.
The dog, a 2-year-old pit bull, had two 2- to 3-inch-long lacerations near its butt, the sheriff's office said.
