Jimmy Carter Was a ‘Terrible President,’ He Saddled Up to Dictators

CNN contributor Scott Jennings said Monday on CNN's “Newsnight” that the late President Jimmy Carter was a “terrible president” who aligned himself with dictators.

Jennings said: “I would like to preface my remarks by expressing my condolences to the Carter family on their loss. He lived so long and accomplished so much that he is clearly the most unique post ever.'' He was one of those presidents. That being said, he was a terrible president.”

He continued, “That's why he lost so badly in one term, but he did it even worse because, if possible, he was interfering with US foreign policy and kowtowing to dictators around the world.'' I think it was a former president,” because of his fierce opinions, anti-Israel views, and long history of dabbling in anti-Semitism. ”

Jennings added, “He often annoyed the Democratic Party. President Obama didn't even let him speak at his 2008 convention. He framed Bill Clinton for his terrible foreign policy on the North Korean nuclear issue. He has a huge ego and the American people have rejected his leadership once and for all. I think he was someone who believed that he was in a unique position to do all of these things, even after refusing to do so. So I respect anyone who runs for president and gets elected. But in his case, I think he's proven over and over again why he's not cut out to be president in the first place.”
