A man has been arrested after an apparent knife attack in Berlin left several people injured and two hospitalized on Tuesday.
Around noon, authorities were called to the scene of a suspected stabbing in Berlin's Charlottenburg district.
According to report from local BZ The newspaper reported that a man allegedly slashed people violently with what appeared to be a knife in the Löwe Market area on Quedlinburger Strasse. Several passersby jumped on the man and restrained him until police arrived.
The attack left several people injured, including two who were sent to the hospital.
Police said there was no indication the attack was terrorism-related and suggested the man may have had a mental disorder. However, the investigation is still in its early stages.
So far, police have not released any information regarding the identity of the suspected attacker.
