As the investigation continues at the scene of a fatal truck mowing down a pedestrian in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter, federal law enforcement officials are also investigating possible improvised explosive devices at the scene.

“We have discovered an improvised explosive device and are working to determine if it is a viable device,” said Alecia Duncan, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI's New Orleans office.

Mr. Duncan declined to answer reporters' requests for details about the number of suspicious devices he was investigating.
