Stand-up comedian and author Whitney Cummings shocked host Andy Cohen multiple times with his live, uncensored roast jokes on CNN's New Year's Eve show.
In addition to appearing on Comedy Roast, Cummings is best known for creating two successful sitcoms, “Whitney'' and “2 Broke Girls.''
Mr. Cummings appeared live on CNN in Times Square just after 10 p.m. ET and brought new content to the cable news network's airwaves.
While discussing new “friends” trivia showCummings said he recently performed in a large theater with an audience of about 3,000 people, noting that it was “comparable to CNN's ratings these days.”
Asked where Cummings would be after midnight, Cohen said, “After what I'm about to do, I think he'll probably be in a group of lawyers or something.”
At this point, the comedian eased up and began firing in all directions.
Cummings said 2024 needs to be held “accountable” because that's “what white women are doing now” and they don't understand the irony.
“We started to feel wistful about the killer,” Cummings continued. “Remember, this was the year we thought, 'Were the Menendez brothers that bad? Were we too hard on the Menendez brothers?'”
“Pro-choice parties didn't give it to voters…”
Cummings added that 2024 was the year “the number of white supremacist groups reached an all-time high. Things got so bad that Ariana Grande became white again.”
“2024 completely broke our brains. … We started watching the WNBA. Oh, what happened?” she asked.
The 2024 election “messed with our brains,” Cummings said at the time. told CNN viewersbefore delivering the biggest laugh of the night.
“Democrats were too busy trying to keep themselves straight to have a primary,” she said of President Joe Biden.
“Is it still working?” she asked. “It was amazing how pro-choice parties gave voters nothing when it came to presidential candidates. It was forced on me.”
The comedian later checked in with her co-host, who said she was getting “very scary looks” because of her joke.
“I can't believe you guys are still letting me go.”
Other hits included Cummings calling cryptocurrencies “astrology for men” and claiming the government “knows perfectly well what a drone is and won't tell us.” etc. are included. She then dedicated her final hour on air to listing news stories that she thought establishment media would never cover.
“Okay. Ready? Let's go! There was no silverware in the Trump shooter's house. No one thought that was funny. Still working?”
“Just know that the next Cars movie won't feature a girl character because the Saudi crown prince has poured money into Disney.”
“So many president's chef wives have passed away. It's weird. The Boy Scouts of America changed their name to Scouting America. You know who else changed their name? Sean Combs. Just said That’s it.”
Cummings said she was shocked at the end of the broadcast when her feed was not cut and said it was “amazing” that CNN did not censor her.
“I can't believe you guys are still letting me go. … There is no censorship on CNN. Thank you. I love you guys.”
Before the segment ended, CNN's Anderson Cooper, who remained deadpan for most of the jokes, revealed that he didn't understand most of the pop culture references Cummings made.
