This is what America is all about.
Following the terrorist attack Wednesday in New Orleans, Louisiana, the Sugar Bowl showed tribute to those who were killed and injured prior to Thursday’s game between Notre Dame and Georgia. (RELATED: Security For Sugar Bowl Has Been Cranked Up To ‘Same Level If Not More So’ Than Super Bowl)
All throughout the day heading into the College Football Playoff quarterfinal, there were expectations that it was going to be quite the emotional scene the closer we got to kickoff. And not just for the people attending the game, but for the people who were helping protect the Superdome after the Islamic State (ISIS)-related attack. That was exactly the case, and it wasn’t only that either, the setting showcased how Americans know how to unite when things are going bad.
While the pre-game ceremonies were happening, the Sugar Bowl held a moment of silence for the victims of the terrorist attack on Bourbon Street.

Then, the scene got epic, as the Notre Dame and Georgia faithful united after the national anthem with “USA! USA! USA!” chants. It was such an overwhelming moment that some even had tears in their eyes.
It was truly beautiful, as beautiful as Ol’ Glory.

Absolute chills … it’s moments like this why I love being an American so much.
