After everything he endured in 2024 — one of the most turbulent periods in American political history — we hope 2025 will be a little more boring for Donald Trump.
But before the new year gets underway, Liz Wheeler looks back at President Trump's best moments of 2024: everything he “did, accomplished, was exposed to, and experienced.”
1. Trump's reaction to the assassination attempt
Needless to say, the near-assassination of Donald Trump by Thomas Matthew Crooks at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in July tops the list of the wildest events of 2024.
But it was President Trump's immediate reaction that put this event on his list. the best A moment in 2024.
Seconds after he was shot, President Trump, with blood pouring from his face, “raised his fist in the air” and urged the nation to “fight, fight, fight.”
“I still get chills when I watch it again,” Liz said after watching the clip again. “If there's one moment that will define the Trump presidency in 2024, this is it.”
2. Victory
“We're putting Trump back in the White House!” Liz exclaimed, calling the announcement of her victory “the most surreal feeling” she's ever experienced in politics.
“Our country will not fall into the hands of Kamala Harris… Praise the Lord. Thank you, Jesus, for having mercy on our country,” she said, adding, “If we We don't deserve this mercy because of the choices we've made culturally.”
3. President Trump's visit to McDonald's
“I'll never stop making this joke. President Trump is currently working more hours at McDonald's than Kamala Harris, who has never worked at McDonald's. She's a liar,” Liz laughs.
“This billionaire elite lives a life of luxury and says, 'Oh, this is such a great job.' It takes skill. I understand your problem. I'll be your champion. “This is why Donald Trump is president again,'' she says.
4. RFK Jr. supports Trump
“I'm so grateful not only for the advocacy work that RFK has done over the years to expose Big Pharma and Fauci, but also for his humility enough to change his mind,” says Liz. . “This is the first time in my life that something like this has happened. [America’s] In fact, health issues will be addressed by a Republican administration. ”
5. Elon Musk joins MAGA
“If it wasn't for Elon Musk's support, Donald Trump might not have won,” Liz said, adding, “Elon Musk completely and completely transformed from a Democrat to the single biggest supporter of Donald Trump on the planet.” He looks back fondly on the fundamental evolution that occurred.
“No one had more influence on the outcome of that election than Elon Musk,” she added.
6. Garbage truck stunt
After Joe Biden made a tasteless remark about Trump supporters being “trash,” Trump dressed up as a garbage man for Halloween and drove around in a garbage truck with a MAGA logo on the side.
“What about my garbage truck? This is a tribute to Kamala and Joe Biden,” he said in the video.
7. Trump will make the most of the lawsuit filed against him in New York City.
Trump “was not legally confined to New York City, but because of all the laws against him, essentially election interference from the Democratic Party, he was effectively confined to New York City over the summer.” says Liz. “Mr. Trump always had to appear in court, which meant he was effectively confined to New York City because that's where he appeared in court.”
This meant he was “unable to travel around the country campaigning in the way he normally would,” but Trump being Trump, he used the unfortunate situation to “campaign in a unique way.” I used it to do things.
“He went to the Bronx. He went to bodegas. He went to UFC matches and made his presence a national news story in New York City. His activism became his campaign. “We did it,” said Liz, calling the strategy “brilliant.”
8. Trump rules social media with memes
“Donald Trump remains the king of content on social media because he discovered how to post memes,” laughs Liz as she shows us some of his best posts.
One of her favorites was when Trump used Snapchat filters on Biden and Kamala during Biden's State of the Union address.
These videos and memes aren't just funny, Liz says, “they're actually effective because President Trump is using comedy for what it's meant to do: change people's minds.”
9. Trump makes his enemies laugh.
Liz remembers when Trump was president.[made] Even Bill Barr laughed at the insult on CNN. ”
When Caitlan Collins read Barr, she said: President Trump's tweethe couldn't help but laugh in amusement.
Being able to make his opponents laugh is “a unique trait of Trump that doesn't exist in any other politician, at least in the modern era, that we're currently observing on the American political stage,” Liz says.
10. Trump dominates Republican primary
“What is often overlooked is the fact that Trump won the Republican primary very easily and overwhelmingly,” Liz says. “Maybe that moment was the premise for all the others, because it really showed how much influence Trump has on our country.”
