USA chants at Sugar Bowl following New Orleans terror attack represent a unified America, Saints star says

New Orleans Saints star defensive end Cam Jordan turned on the TV when he came out of practice and heard chants of “USA” at the Sugar Bowl.

The crowd chanted after the game was delayed a day due to the Bourbon Street terrorist attack in the early morning hours of New Year's Day. A total of at least 14 victims were killed and several more injured.

Jordan, 35, spoke about what the chant meant to him when he joined “Fox & Friends” on Friday.

“New Orleans is a resilient city. To have the Sugar Bowl delayed one day, Mayor Cantrell went to Bourbon Street to pray before the game and then at the start of the Sugar Bowl, just like we were there. I'm here!' You come home from practice and you turn on the TV and you hear Team USA chanting — you know exactly what that means,'' Jordan said.

“This is about us supporting each other, this is about America supporting each other, understanding that this is a tragedy, and we will get through it. If anything, we We understand that we as a city of New Orleans are supported by the rest of the country. ”

Jordan has spent his entire 14-year career with the Saints, and has been a leader both on and off the field.

Jordan said in a social media post that she donated $25,000 to the New Year's Day Tragedy Fund.

“Honestly, I'm blessed enough to be in a position where I can step forward and give back. I mean, given the tragedy that happened on Bourbon Street on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, people can just celebrate at home and have fun.” We’re just trying to pass the time, that’s our city,” Jordan said.

“As long as I've been here, I've felt like I'm a part of this city, and I've let it be known that I love this place from high to low. Jordan is an eight-time Pro Bowler, one-time All-Pro, and an Ironman who only missed two games during his illustrious career.
