The 25-year-old infielder's contract reportedly includes $12.5 million in guaranteed money and an option for the 2028-29 season that increases his total contract value to $22 million.

Kim is a career .304 hitter who has earned numerous accolades for his defense, and the Dodgers are looking to acquire a talented young player who is rapidly developing.

Kim has eight years of professional experience with the KBO's Kiwoom Heroes, and has steadily improved as a hitter with each team.

In his first full year in the KBO, the left-handed hitter hit .270/.328/.367.

Two years later, when Kim was 21 years old, those numbers had risen to .285/.345/.399.

In 2023, Kim had the best season of his career, hitting .335/.396/.446.

He also has issues with the bases, accumulating at least 20 stolen bases in each of the past seven seasons.

Defensively, Kim is a four-time KBO Golden Glove Award winner.

He first earned the honor at the shortstop position in 2021, then as a second baseman in 2022, '23 and '24.

Kim's agreement with the Dodgers was reached hours before the posting window, set for Friday at 5 p.m. ET, ended.

The Heroes gave Kim a 30-day reprieve in December following the culmination of his 2024 season, during which the star infielder batted .326 with 11 home runs and 30 stolen bases.

The Dodgers will pay the Heroes a transfer fee when the deal is finalized.

Its price depends on the guaranteed part of his contract, MLB.com reported.

It's not yet clear where Kim will fit in Los Angeles, where left-handed middle infielders in Mookie Betts and Gavin Lux have already established themselves.

He turns 26 at the end of this month.
