Minnesota man accused of dismembering multiple women makes plea

A Minnesota man accused of murdering his two girlfriends, cutting them up and leaving them in a storage room recently entered a new plea.

FOX 9 reports that Joseph Jorgenson on Thursday pleaded guilty to murdering Manije “Mani” Staren and Fanta Xayavong, two missing women whose bodies were found in a storage facility in 2023.

He also pleaded guilty to two separate charges of second-degree intentional homicide.

Jorgenson admitted to killing Stalen in his apartment in April 2023 after he asked her to leave.

The man “strangled her until she could no longer breathe,” then used a long razor blade to mutilate her body and moved her body to a storage facility in Woodbury, the report said.

According to FOX 9, Jorgenson also admitted to killing Xayavong two years ago at her home after an “argument escalated into a physical altercation.” After dismembering her body, Jorgenson moved it to a storage facility in Coon Laprise.

“She's our beautiful daughter. She has a heart of gold and was a really good mother,” Mani's mother, Ricky Staren, told FOX 9 after the hearing. “Yes, he's a monster. But I feel sorry for his family.”

He could face a total of 40 years in prison for both deaths, officials said.
