“We're not here for quid pro quos, but what we made to Chairman Johnson is that if we continue to fail, we will be held accountable,” Perry said in an appearance on NewsNation the Hill Friday night. Ta.

Mr. Perry and 33 other Republicans voted against the short-term spending bill in December after chaos erupted at the Capitol to avert a government shutdown and called into question Mr. Johnson's chairmanship. .
Late last month, Pennsylvania lawmakers weren't sure whether they would support Johnson as speaker.
Lawmakers ultimately approved Johnson as speaker of the 119th Congress on Friday with 218 votes. But Perry said Johnson still needs to work to regain the trust of some disgruntled Republicans.
“Many members of the Republican conference are not thrilled about the last 15 months under his leadership,” Perry told anchor Blake Berman.

The House Freedom Caucus, of which Perry is a member, sent a letter to Johnson on Friday after the vote, warning him he has until January 20 to prove he can carry out President-elect Trump's policies.
