Residents of Vallejo, California, are desperate for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to step in and fight the crime that has long plagued Bay Area communities.
The area is plagued by dangerous car entertainment, drug crimes, shootings and shoplifting, Fox News reported. reported on monday.

Newsom recently said city leadership needs to address police staffing issues. He told Vallejo residents that he would not let the CHP do the work that local officials would do, but that state leaders would support them.
Conley echoed Newsom's comments and said Vallejo, like the Oakland Police Department, is expected to operate its police department correctly and efficiently to serve the public.
