2 found dead in JetBlue plane’s landing gear after NYC flight

The airline announced Tuesday that two people were found dead in the landing gear of a JetBlue plane that was flying from New York City to Florida.

A JetBlue spokesperson told the Post that the body was discovered in the landing gear compartment during a routine post-flight inspection at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

The plane most recently operated Flight 1801 from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, which landed in Fort Lauderdale just after 11 p.m., the report said. FlightAware.com.

Officials said their identities are currently being withheld by the airline as they investigate how they gained access to the plane.

“This is a heartbreaking situation and we are committed to working closely with authorities and supporting their efforts to understand how this happened,” the spokesperson added.

The deaths are still under investigation.
